Accordi Musicali Winds Competition Nears Climax as Finalists Announced in Pescara

After another day of extraordinary performances at the Conservatory of Music “Luisa D’Annunzio” in Pescara, the jury faced the difficult task of narrowing down the field to just six contestants. Following careful deliberation, the musicians selected to progress were:

  • Marton Bubreg (Austria)
  • Fulvio Ferrara (Italy)
  • Mikhail Kazakov (Russia/Italy)
  • Marco Mancini (Italy)
  • Sergio Mariani (Italy)
  • Giuseppe Olivieri (Italy)

The jury, consisting of Hayrapet Arakelyan (Germany/China), Guerino Bellarosa (Italy), Nicola Campitelli (Italy), Alan Chircop (Malta), and Antonio Tinelli (Italy/Switzerland), were effusive in their praise, with Bellarosa remarking that “the level at this competition has been very high! We had participants from different parts of the world, even from the United States. We were truly surprised by the quality of the final selection!”

For the participants, the experience has been equally rewarding as finalist Mikhail Kazakov noted when he observed that “It’s been a wonderful experience here at Accordi Musicali. Chieti is such a historic city, and to get the chance to perform in places like this, especially after enjoying Italian life in Pescara, makes it an unforgettable time. The competition itself is well organised and feels more like a family event, which helps ease the nerves!”

As the finalists prepare for their performances in the Grand Final tomorrow, all eyes now turn to Chieti. With a €9,000 prize fund at stake, and a performance in one of Italy’s most treasured theatres, the stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to this prestigious event!
