Reflecting on his victory, Taichi Miyamoto expressed his pride in what was an intensely competitive and inspiring final round, with his performance being described by jury members as both technically flawless and deeply moving.

Runner-up Sijun Kim, who hails from South Korea and currently studies in Berlin, shared their enthusiasm about the entire experience, declaring that “the experience at the Accordi Musicali Violin Competition has been wonderful… It’s my first time in Italy, and I had a fantastic journey. It felt like an honour to perform at Teatro Marrucino, it’s such a historical venue, and I really enjoyed playing there!”

The competition jury, featuring Alan Chircop (Malta), Francesco De Angelis (Italy), Zohrab Tadevosyan (Spain/Armenia), Karen Shahgaldyan (Armenia), and Pavel Vernikov (Switzerland), praised the artistic standard of all six finalists, noting that the level of performance across the board was a testament to the exceptional talent of the next generation of violinists.

Organised as part of the Accordi Musicali Academy, the competition concluded a frenzy of vibrant musical activity that also included a full series of masterclasses led by internationally recognised violin professors. With its unique blend of mentorship and performance, the Academy continues to solidify its reputation as a vital platform for classical music education and excellence in Italy and beyond.

As the curtain closes on this year’s violin competition, all eyes now turn to the upcoming piano masterclasses, organised as part of the 11th edition of the much-beloved ClaviCologne International Piano Festival, which will be coming to Pescara from the 4th to the 8th of August. These too will be succeeded by a dedicated contest for the instrument, which will be hosted from the 10th to the 12th of the month in both Pescara and Chieti.
